As an educator & maker, I always like to experiment with new ways in which I can leverage technology to create more value for not only my students but entire education ecosystem. And there is no better way than documenting your journey along to share your learnings and get feedback.

Over this series of blog posts, I shall be sharing my classroom experiences & learnings along with student projects/initiatives for the course on “Tinkering with Paper Circuits 2.0” being facilitated by me as a part of Independent Study Period 2018 at Ahmedabad University.

Before we get started on this insightful journey, let me share a brief overview of this unique initiative by Ahmedabad University. So, Independent Study period or ISP as we generally call it, offers students a chance to explore their passion and go beyond the classroom, making their academic learning truly interdisciplinary and conceptual understanding more experiential. ISP courses are rooted in disciplines like Literature, Sociology, Design, Science, Technology, Heritage, Humanities & Languages, and more — but cut across areas and specialisations. Moreover, students get credits for the same .You can visit this link here for more info on ISP. Watch video below for quick explanation.

When I first heard about this initiative, I was simply amazed to see something like this happening at an Indian university that too so diligently and at such a scale. Hats off to the Learning Initiatives team at AU for planning and executing it year after year. I was a part of it last year as well and really excited to do it this year again.

Let the tinkering begin…..
